About Shane
Therapy is something we do together
The most common complaint I hear about other therapists is "All they did was listen!" That's not how I work.

My approach
I want you to feel deeply seen and heard, but also challenged and inspired. My focus is on relationships: with other people, and with your thoughts and feelings, body image, identity, food, substances and habits.
I help people move from "What's wrong with me?" to "What happened to me?" and, ultimately, to "What's possible?" Sessions often include experiential exercises to build a more skillful relationship with the nervous system.
A bit about me
Clients have told me it helps to know a little about who I am:
- Lifelong musician and composer
- Former teacher
- I run nearly every day; meditation is a daily constant
- I prioritize reading
- Have lived abroad; in a bicultural, interracial marriage, raising a mixed-race child
- Long experience with religion and spirituality, Western and Eastern
- Managing Type 1 Diabetes, a lifelong chronic illness
